Video tutorial as tool for teaching and learning

The most important idea that I learned from this session is about video tutorials. What is a video tutorial? It is an instructional video guide in which subject contents are taught through video. The importance of video tutorial is immeasurable, they encourage learners to think critically, makes learning easy, and also influences independent learning. The contents taught through video tutorials last for a longer period in learners’ memories. It motivates learners as visual learners are particularly benefitted. It also influences micro-learning, which means learners can learn in their own way.

Video tutorials are implemented in the classroom in that teachers must plan lessons, gather information from different sources, and organize and synthesize them before putting them in video tutorials. Some of the vital tools for creating video tutorials are such as Camtasia Studio, screencast-O-metic, and screen castify.
